The BACKYARD Exhibition as part of Head On Photo Festival was successfully launched last Sunday. We had over 120 people come and join us on beautifully sunny Sunday afternoon. Guests included seven exhibiting photographers from Sydney and a few that had travelled up from Melbourne.
We also had the ubiquitous Ben Lowy on hand to select and announce the three winners of the G-Technology prizes (thank you G-Tech!). These are the ones he chose:
The overall winner of the BACKYARD open call was Indonesian photographer Prassprasetio with Little girl taking a nap among the graves. Prassprasetio is also currently holding his own solo show called CITYZEN in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The first runner-up was Andrea O’Reilly with Greet the Sun
The second runner-up was Sarah Moore with A Tourist’s Backyard – Brighton Beach
The three winners receive G-Raid storage drives from G-Technology. All 27 exhibited photographers can be seen in gallery walk through video below.
For those based in Sydney the exhibition is open every weekend (11am – 5pm) until Sunday 23 June at the Superintendent’s Residence in Centennial Park.
