About

MPN

The Mobile Photo Network (MPN) features quality mobile photography from around the world.

MPN explores the photographs, cultures and communities created through the use of connected mobile devices.

MPN is a collaboration between award winning mobile photographers Misho Baranovic and Oliver Lang. Misho and Oliver have been creating and curating mobile photography experiences and exhibitions since 2009.

In 2013 MPN has partnered with FORMAT Photography Festival in Derby, UK and the Head On Photography Festival in Sydney.

MISHO BARANOVIC

Misho Baranovic is a mobile photographer, writer and app developer.  He is interested in how mobile technology is changing photography.

Misho’s photography has been exhibited internationally in New York (EyeEm, Open House Gallery, 2010), Berlin (EyeEm, Schlechtriem Brothes Gallery, 2010), Paola, Italy (iPhoneography.eu, FIAF Gallery Arteaparte, 2011) and Sarcelles, France (Photsoc PhotSoc 2012 – International Festival of Social Photography)

In 2013, Misho partnered with FORMAT Festival and EyeEm to create MobFORMAT: The Press – the world’s first mobile photo printing press.  Over the course of the month-long festival 2,000 photographers submitted almost 7,000 photos to the exhibition. All photos were selected and curated by visitors to the Chocolate Factory space.

Misho published his first eBook with Digital Photography School: iPhone Photography: How to Shoot, Edit and Share Great Photos.  He is the Chief Blog Editor for the ProCamera App and is a featured contributor for Digital Photography Review’s Connect site.

Misho released his first iPhone photo app, Perspective Correct, in March 2013.

You can contact Misho directly at [email protected].

OLIVER LANG

Oliver is an experienced mobile photographer, he consults in real time visual content experiences with organisations, brands and events.

Oliver’s photography has been exhibited internationally Berlin (EyeEm, Schlechtriem Brothes Gallery, 2010), and in New York City (at the SOHO Gallery for Digital Art, 2013).

In 2011 Oliver curated the largest Australian mobile photography exhibition at the Apple Store in Sydney as part of the Head On Photography Festival.

He has lead photo walks for Earth Hour Global, the City of Sydney and regularly organises photography slide nights in Sydney.  He believes that community and culture are the most important elements of mobile photography.

Oliver was invited to teach mobile photography classes at the Australian Centre for Photography, the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney and the University of NSW.

He won the 2012 Street Photography Category of the Mobile Photography Awards and was runner up in People and Portraits category.
